KAMAL HASSAN PROMISES TO RETURN ‘DEBT’ TO SHAHRUKH KHAN

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has revealed that he owes a lot to Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan who starred in his home production Hey Ram more than a decade back.

Kamal Hassan made his ‘dream film’ in Tamil and Hindi and underwent many changes in his facial and physical appearance in bringing to reality his role of ‘Saket Ram’ in the film.

Shahrukh Khan was recently in Chennai to accept a special award at the Vijay Awardsceremony conducted by Vijay TV. When he spoke at the function, Kamal Hassan revealed thatShahrukh Khan didn’t take any money for starring in Hey Ram. The film had Rani Mukherjee andVasundhara Das as the heroines and also starred the likes of Atul Kulkarni and Naseeruddin Shah.

“I owe a lot to Shahrukh Khan who didn’t demand any money in starring in my Hey Ram. He was so magnanimous in his approach and attitude. A top hero like him working in a film without taking anything as his fee is a rare thing indeed.

Shahrukh Khan is really a wonderful person. However, I’m planning to ‘repay my debt’ to him and would do so in the months to come,” said Kamal Hassan.

In what way is he planning to ‘repay’ the debt would be known soon!
